Hi, I just found this site and hope to use it more with my own horticultural ventures!

In the meantime, a family member has requested one of those shaped bamboo arrangements. I have seen them at the richmond night market, but never in any stores. The one she wants kind of looks like a pineapple shape...
Any help with where i could purchase one here would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks and happy gardening everybody!

Sounds like you are talking about Dracaena sanderiana cuttings produced in Asia.

Thank you, that would be the accurate taxonomic classification and yes, I also suppose some of these cuttings originate in Asia...
I know the common name for them is 'lucky bamboo'. I am not particularly a fan of these arrangements, but she wants one.
I wasn't aware that they were dracaena cuttings, but it does make sense since they are not hollow like a bamboo.

Shiploads of bagged cuttings have been imported, bringing with them the Asian Tiger Mosquito. I doubt there is much domestic production of the contorted cuttings.

Hmm. Thanks for the info, Ron. I don't want any part of supporting this destructive by-product of trade.
She'll be getting a nice cutting off my prized ficus instead...
