Hi, I live in a condo in Vancouver and would like to try a few blackberry and blueberry plants on my patio in big pots, spacious growing space, right? :) I would like to try.

I visited the UBC Botanical garden last year and could not forget one blueberry tree (not a bush) that was covered with berries in a vegetable garden (the one that's free for the homeless), does anyone know what variety this might be? And where I can get one?
I also want to grow a few blackberry bushes that produce nice juicy fruit, hybrid or native, does anyone know which nurseries carry those? What varieties?

It looks like it's already too late to plant any, but I still want to try, if not this season, definitely for the next one.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

You pretty much end up with whatever is available at retailers. Natural Gardener, David Hunter, etc. have good products. Get early, mid, and late types. I say this, having planted three bushes last year. Looking forward to the harvest this year!
