Hi, I have been looking all over the internet for places that sell mosses. I have found 2 places in US but they don't ship to canada. I am looking for polytrichum genus of mosses. In specific polytrichum commune. I was wondering if it is possible that I can obtain some of this moss from the UBC. thanks, V
Hmm. Not finding it locally? I'd be surprised if you couldn't find some at RBG (with help from the folks there) or a local forested area? How much are you looking for?

thanks for replying. Well....I haven't seen any moss collections at the RBG. And I haven't seen polytrichum anywhere so far in the outdoors. I plan to use the polytrichum along with my nepenthes pitcher plants. As u can see I have a very small amount of polytrichum commune from a associate in BC. However, I want to get atleast 1sq feet of moss to use with my other pitcher plants as well. However, the problem is that I prefer moss that has been cultivated as wild collected moss would mean that the soil will contaminate the Long fiber sphagnum media of the neps. I cannot risk any pathogen entry as well. :( The wardshomeschool seems to be selling wild collected moss from that picture. :( I have contacted a couple of places in the US who propogate the moss themselves but they unfortunately can't ship to canada. :( thanks, V
