I have a typical vancouver balcony (3x8) with iron railings. I'm looking for lightweight, rectangular pots that are deep enough to plant bamboo or ornamental evergreens. I've seen them on television and in books but not around town. Thanks for any help.

Check with Home Depot. When I was there earlier this year they had lightweight, fiberglass containers in various shapes and sizes that looked like they were made from other types of materials like concrete. They're also available in styles suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.

Most nurseries carry a good selection of these lightweight pots nowadays. And rather than running around finding where they are in stock, you can also ask stores if they can order them in for you, if they have the type you want but not the size.

That's where I saw them but I'm pretty sure others would have them as well.
