What's this plant?

    This plant photo was taken in Washington state on July 8th, 2018. It is on my property and was wondering if anyone could help ID it. It's got some type of "nut" on it (shown in photo) and the squirrels seem to love the nuts. Thanks for any help!

    Yes, a hazelnut, probably the native Corylus cornuta .
