what's happening to these leaves?

    Hi all,

    What's happening to these trees? The maple and hazelnut tree seem to get their leaves all full of holes every year, yet otherwise the trees seem fairly healthy. There are no visible pests on them. Anybody seen this before?

    Try coming out and looking for them with a flashlight, at night.

    Hah! OK.

    So in your opinion it's definitely some sort of pest eating these leaves and not some "illness"?
