Not "us" personally, but these four un-identified plants. I often take photos of unrecognized developing plants and then monitor them for later identification. I have dozens of such plants in progress right now, but a few are on a neighboring property of about 400 acres of incredibly diverse habitat. My neighbor has passed away and as of tomorrow, (property settlement --- to become a hunting estate), I am told by his executors that I may lose access. Three of these plants are located on a south-facing slope, under sparse tree canopy, in a very wet drainage with deep litter in fairly acidic soil. The red-berry plant is on a creek bank and has above ground rihzomes. All are in Northern Pennsylvania Can you help to ID them?
I know this is a very old thread but I just wanted to point out that the plant in the first photo has an edible root. Its taste resembles a cucumber. My Forestry teacher pointed them out, calling it by the common name of 'Indian Cucumber', and let my class have a taste.
