    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the variety here. I was thinking Emperor I.

    Thanks in advance!

    Nobody has an idea here?

    Fireglow possibly?

It is difficult because there are so many red leaved cultivars with a leaf shape akin to this one. The growth habit does look fairly compact, which might be a clue, assuming it remains compact as it grows.

Thanks for the reply. My other guess was the fireglow as well as it is growing less rapid. Hopefully time will tell more about the cultivar.

Neither 'Fireglow' nor 'Emperor I' have a flat leaf base. 'Umegae' does, this is similar but seems a bit too indented and the central veins are less distinct than I would expect.

But don't take it from me, 'cause I'm pretty bad at IDing cultivars! :)
