what type of plant is this

    can anyone identify what type of plant this is and any facts about it. this is the dried flower.

    The crested part is a deformity.

    The normal flowers on the stalk below would be what to use to figure out what the species is.

    thank you for identifing it, my dad is trying to grow it we got this flower from our neighbor

    If you can show the whole plant, with foliage maybe somebody else will chime in with its name. (After I looked at it again I decided the first name suggested wasn't right, revised my post).

    That's what I first suggested, but look at the flowers(?) on the green part below the crest.

    Looks similar though the color is off. Might be just from drying out
    As you said we really need to see the foliage for a proper ID.
