When I moved into my house a few years ago there were some palm plants in the landscaping. Actually I'm not sure its a palm at all. Due to the extreme drought and crazy heat in Austin during 2008-2009 a couple of the plants have died. As you can see from the picture I attached this plant looks pretty stressed to. I want to replace them but I am not sure what they are. Does anyone recognize the plant? Thanks in advance!

Cordyline, mine died this year so you may want to consider something else.

Thanks saltcedar! I think I'll take your advice and use a more hardy plant :)
