What type of Oak might this one be?

    Pedunculate Oak Quercus robur (or possibly a hybrid of it with another related oak). Note the very short (almost no) leaf stalk, and auricles at the base of the leaf.

    Do oaks' seedlings pretty much come true to their parents? Or do Oaks mutate often? (I've never looked into Oaks before)

    They hybridise quite frequently between closely related species, so don't always come true.
