Hello all, This is my first post on the forum and I'm not really what you might call green fingered. However I was in B&Q (UK DIY shop) just having a little browse today when I saw some very small Bonsai trees in the garden centre and I had to have one. The thing is the label is just a completely generic bonsai label that was in all the different types and now I'm at home admiring my bonsai and I want to know how to care for it, but I'm unable to identify it. From what I have read so far different bonsais have different needs depending on the type. I think it might be some kind of umbrella bonsai (having looked at photos online) but would really appreciate if anyone is able to confirm the type for me. Any help identifying and any hints or tips on how best to look after it would be much appreciated, I'd like to give it all the love it needs. Many thanks Mark
It appears to be an Azalea species. It appears to have some age to it, so it should flower nicely. Here is a web link. http://www.bonsaigardener.org/azalea-bonsai-care.html
The leaf arrangement on Rhododendron is alternate. The plant in the photo is opposite. Something else I believe. HTH Chris
