This maybe young tree in Stanley Park looked so delicate when I saw it backlit, I became totally smitten. I know I could wait until there is more to go on here, or maybe you could consider it a stumper, but our stumper rules are that the poster has to know what they are. I'm not sure I'll know what this is when everything expands anyway. It has alternate branching, roundish leaves that look somewhat palmately veined, uneven scalloped leaf margins, campanulate flowers with so far hardly any peduncle. Lenticels on the trunk.

I forgot - it was definitely fragrant. Thank you for the ID and for mentioning that. So this is already what it looks like - the leaves might get a little larger, but not much.

I got excited about seeing the name - hadn't realized that you linked to the BPotD, which was very interesting.
I posted the one at UBCBG, cultivar 'Benmore' : April 3, 2015 - my favourites. Ha-ha, "my favourites", forgot all about it.
And I posted the fruits: Visiting Garden in June(Alpine garden)
And Nadia posted autumn leaves: More pictures from Alpine garden for ID (third photo).

    Maybe I'll remember it now.
