does not shed leaves in autumn but does towards the end of winter and grows foliage again in summer. will appreciate your help. thanks.
oh it's a Ginkgo. i didn't know that Ginkgo's can remain evergreen in winter and shed leaves just when the rest of the trees are starting to grow theirs. thank you Lorax.
Very odd. Ginkgo biloba trees go a beautiful butter yellow in the autumn. Then all the leaves drop off. In the spring new leaves are produced. Certainly not evergreen in Britain. https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=...urce=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=3pJDUIb6HIa_0QXnyIDIBg
this tree has become popular in that village because it remains almost the only green tree (with the exception of real evergreens) when all others have shed their leaves in autumn and remains green throughout winter. yes, it's odd.
