I've been unsuccessful in identifying this tree. Hope you can help. This tree is in
Bowling Green, KY , zone 6a/6b. Age unknown. I haven't seen another one in this
area. Planted by previous owner, who said it was rare.

This is my 1st post. I hope I have downsized my photos properly.

April 20 - Tree bare, leaves beginning to form on terminal branches.
May 5 - Leaves out. Some already 12".
May 28(2008) - Tree in bloom. Single, white, upright. Center of faded blooms will
continue to grow throughout the summer.
Seed cones grow to about 3".
Leaves measure 1-2ft by late summer.
