What Tree is this?

    Could you please help me identify this tree? I'm stumped. The tree is growing wild in Langley BC.

    Could be some kind of ash but knowing where you live would help a lot too.

    Looks like a Pterocarya (wingnut) or possibly Juglans cinerea (Butternut)

    I see now in closeup leaves appear to have a flattened rachis (central stem). I think this would eliminate walnuts, maybe there is a wingnut that has curved stems otherwise the ones more common here at least tend to have straight branches.

    If this were older and had fruits it would be easier.
