    Hi

I am looking for an innovative, inexpensive idea to place under my many pots on a wood deck.

I thought of using wine corks. I just need to raise the pots to avoid any rot, let the water out.

So many pots, I do not want to purchase rollers trays. Pots are of varying sizes..

    Any ideas, please reply
    Thanks

Whoa nelly! That's a lot of wine corks.

Perhaps a slatted bench or benches, upon which several pots could repose.

I have a mere fraction of your pot count, vsby, but I use metal-wire trivets purchased at my dollar store. Also 3-legged stands in which I put my large, trailing plants.

I say, what do you have a lot of? As MamaSan says, something like poker chips or checkers---you need a large quantity of small solid non-rottable objects. My veterinary-assistant spouse suggests syringe-case caps: vet. clinics and hospitals go through an immense number of these.

Go to your local thrift shop, and look around.

How about Lego or Duplo blocks?

You can also use the lids off of 2L pop bottles, hot-glued together to make them 2 lids high. Or, if you like the cork idea, you can sometimes find sheets of 1/2 inch cork at your local art stores - then you can just cut squares and build them up until the pots are high enough up. Foami would probably work well too, but that would definitely need to built up into layers.

I use small rocks and stones for this purpose. You have to match the size and shape to get a balanced setting, but that's kind of fun anyway. Certainly plenty around.

    Hi
Thanks for the rocks idea. Needs something simple and clean. The checkers or cork is a good idea as well.
