I have an old, large stately camellia japonica growing up near the side of the house, very nice twisted trunk, and the area around it is unplanted (by several feet). I am looking to add some shrubs or plants that will accent the camellia or grow well along side it. This is a partial sun area, well drained soil, on a bit of a slope. Oh, should mention that off to the side, behind the camellia by several feet there is a small grove of black bamboo growing between my house and the neighbors that peeks through to the front view, if that gives an extra visual dimension. Any ideas?
