This orchid was bought for me sometime last year and after flowering it produced a 'baby'. It has now grown but I don't know what to do with it. I'm a complete novice and I can't find anything on the internet so I thought I'd start asking people. I believe the plant to be Phalaenopsis White but not entirely sure. Any ideas please? I don't want to remove it in case I damage either the new or old plant. Many thanks.

Gently, with a pair of very sharp, sterile scissors, cut the stem above and below the pup, then plant it in the same medium as the mother (whether you put it in the same pot as the mother is up to you). Be very careful not to damage the root that's growing on it.

    That's it.
