Wildflowers: What thorny weed is that ?

    Every year my lawn is invaded by this weed. It grows very large and is damn spiny....

    Searching on net I have no clues what may be it. So, waiting to see flowers....or someone else could point out an id. Thanks.

    Britain zone 8/9
    One of the Cirsium thistles, possibly Spear Thistle Cirsium vulgare, but I'm not sure what other similar related species might also be found in Romania.
