what plant?

    So true. Planted 1 small plant in an area about 8'x8' last year. It has completely taken
    over that area this year.

    If it wasn't for the fact it continually flowers for months I would rip it all out.

    how hardy in zone 3? and will it seed through mulch? as a biennial such as the great
    mullein, does it behave the same way?

    Don't know about zone 3 but very much a perennial here.Having said that, a mulch might slow it as can struggle at first if too crowded here.
