Hello Plant Experts! I'm in a new yard and I don't think this is just one plant, but maybe two plants? can someone identify these or at least the bottom plant? Not sure if this is a weed I should start to pull out now. Located in Toronto, Canada.

    TIA

    Tamara

There are two plants. Neither one looks like anything invasive. I would wait for the leaves to develop on the tall plant, which is a shrub, and for the flowers on the short, leafy one, which is a herbaceous perennial, to see what they are.

Or maybe someone else will chime in with the ready answers :-)

The herbaceous plant is Alliaria petiolata. It should have garlic smell.

Yes, it looks like Alliaria petiolata (Tyrlych is always right).
So, after all, it is invasive! Alliaria petiolata - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Try to remove it without doing damage to the shrub that grows there together, or eat the leaves with your salads.
