I would like to know the species of this magnolia. If I remember it correctly, this magnolia seems to bloom in late summers where others have already bloomed months before. Can anybody help identify? Thank you very much.
Don't know if this species is cultivated there but the broad tepals (petal-like parts) and reddish anthers are like those of some forms of willowleaf magnolia (Magnolia salicifolia). If that one the leaves should have a lemon-like fragrance when crushed.
Thank you very much Ron. It seems to be M. salicifolia as you suggested. I'd better crush its leaf next time.
