What kind of tree??

    Vancouver Island, BC
    We would like to plant a tree in our front yard. It is a sunny yard, quite open. We live in southern Vancouver Island. We would like a tree that grows to about 15 feet, that will provide a bit of shade, fairly low maintanence, colourful if possible.
    Any advice??
