What kind of tree is this sapling?

I found this near the acreage where I live which is southern Louisana. Is it in the maple family? Would it be suitable for bonsai? Thanks in advance.

Maple? It's an oak! And it will be as suitable as you are skillful.

 

That was my second guess, Oak. I am new to learning about trees. Indoor and outdoor plant gardening is what I have experience in. Only lately have I gotten interested in bonsais and trees. Thanks for the confirmation of Oak.

 

Young oaks can have non-characteristic leaves, but it looks like a post oak.
