    Maple? It's an oak! And it will be as suitable as you are skillful.

    That was my second guess, Oak. I am new to learning about trees. Indoor and outdoor plant gardening is what I have experience in. Only lately have I gotten interested in bonsais and trees. Thanks for the confirmation of Oak.

    Young oaks can have non-characteristic leaves, but it looks like a post oak.
