Hello all... I have just started buying house plants to enjoy in my home. I have no idea what kind of plant this is and therefore I don't know how to care for it. Can anyone help me? It has new growth on it now and the new growth looks like a smaller version of the actual plant.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I have one of those. They get really big. Mine is nine feet tall counting the pot. I don't know what I will do next year when it comes time to bring it back in the house for the winter as my ceilings are 9'. I am afraid to prune or top. Any suggestions?

No problem pruning the top back. New leaves will grow near where the cut was made. You can root the top if you want to make another plant.
