What kind of plant is this ? A tree even ?

    If someone could please give me a definite answer to the identification of this plant, I would be grateful. So I could look up on how to care for it.

    Looks like Ulmus parvifolia.

    could be a ficus - they're often used for bonsai.

    Zelkova. Related to elms, but with symmetrical leaf base (elms have a lop-sided base to the leaf). Like elms, commonly used for bonsai; if it is imported from China (a lot are), likely Zelkova sinica.
