Identification: What kind of indoor tree is this? Some kind of weeping palm?

    One of my neighbors had left this tree out by the curb to throw out. The shape is a bit strange, but it looks healthy, and I'd like to claim it. Any idea what kind of tree this is? It almost reminds me of a spider plant, but it is a tree. I'd really like to know to make sure it wouldn't be terribly toxic to my kitty cats.
