    Hi!

I'm living in Bolton in United Kingdom and this plant is growing in a garden of a house that I recently moved to. It has a very stiff leaves and the front side looks almost as lacquered. It's very shiny. (looks almost like artificial) Some of the leaves have very sharp thorns. (see the pictures) So - do anyone knows what is this? Thanks in advance for any replies. :)

P.S. I come from Poland so I'm sorry about any mistakes. I'm still improving my English. ;)

    Highclere Holly Ilex × altaclerensis.

A garden hybrid between Ilex aquifolium (Europe, including Britain) and Ilex perado (Canary Islands).

Multiple cultivars, not able to say which one this might be. Visiting a good holly collection could result in a name.
