I live in Calgary. We planted an Evans cherry tree in our backyard late May. In the first few weeks the leaves were turning yellow and falling. It has stopped now but it looks like that it is not growing. I don't see any new leaves and it does not have any fruits. Is there anything wrong with it?
I water it every other day. Does it need fertilizer?

    Thank you very much!

I don't expect to much from my trees in the first year of planting, most of the energy goes into setting root's in its new home. Wait until next year. Be careful not to over water.

Thank you very much Charles for your responses! It is good to know there is nothing wrong. I will try not to over water it.
