I have this weed in my yard... I had one last year and now there are two. each point on each leaf has a really sharp thorn. It's even sharper after it has dried out over the winter. It's so sharp I need gardening gloves to pull the plant up. What is this thing?

It's a thistle. Hard to say what kind at this point. Maybe Cirsium arvense.

Thistle are weedy plants in Aster family that generally seed around easily.

Looks more like Spear Thistle Cirsium vulgare. What Eric says about weedy still applies ;-)

Cool, thanks. To me, thistles have prickly flowers and this never got flowers. I didn't know this is what the leaves look like.

It's not big enough to bloom.
