What is this?

    I would like to know what this small tree is. It is about seven feet high and about three years old. Thanks.

    Leaf outline is like that of L. chinense.

    Did wonder about that, though L. tulipifera can also have that leaf shape on young plants, and outnumbers L. chinense by something like 1,000:1 in Western cultivation, which is why I went for L. tulipifera.
