A friend gave it to me. We do not know what it is. I am not sure where to plant it or how to care for it. It is the plant in the small clay pot (second from the right in the foreground)
It looks like what was ID'd in this thread: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=41188
It does, just more compact. Perhaps it will loosen up in the ground. Thank you so much! I will look for a sunny spot.
Which one? There are a number of different plants in the picture. Do you mean the one to the right of the Tansy or one of the two behind it?
However, now that you mention it . . . My mom gave me the plant on the far right in the green pot with the sun on it. She called it The Devils Claw. Hers has tiny reddish orange blooms. Edit: I did a search for "Devil's Claw" and it does not look like one. Mine is only getting some morning sun. I started it from a cutting inside this past winter and moved it out side in the early spring. Mine has not bloomed? Maybe, I should move it too? Edit to add closeups:
The plant on the right in the green pot is Pedilanthus tithymaloides, commonly called "devil's backbone" because of the zig-zag stems. The plants commonly called "devil's claw" are something completely different, various Proboscidea species. If you fertilize it with a low nitrogen fertilizer, it may bloom.
Thank-you, Cereusly Steve. I will check about getting some low nitrogen fertilizer. Most likely I used expert brand potting soil from wall mart. I'm not sure what was in it. Now that I know what it is I can read more about it . . .
