what is this?

    I saw something brown gathering around stalks of our pinus plant this week. Does somebody know what this is?

    Caterpillar nest. Notice the chewed off needles to the left of it.

    Well sure, but a few caterpillars this year will mean more next year. It will impact both the appearance & health of your pine.
