What is this white-flowered hibiscus-like plant?

    Victoria [Saanich, actually, northeast of Victoria
    This plant has appeared in my townhouse garden, it is only about 8 inches tall and appears to be a type of hibiscus or similar often seen around Victoria... I know I have seen these described or mentioned but I have never grown one. The flower is pure white, the leaves serrated.

    Thank you, saw the website you provided, sorry, did not notice it at first. All the info I need there. I was sort of impatient because was trying to download my photos and struggling with getting them on the laptop computer and dealing with vile VISTA. As soon as that new Windows is available and properly tested, that's what I'm going to get, and will be so happy to dump VISTA. We have Windows XP which is perfectly fine on another computer.
