In amongst the broom, this strange looking plant was growing. The picture isn't ideal, but it is all I was provided with at this time. Was growing on a west facing slope in full sun, about 40 metres from a river. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Update; I visited the same site and though the plant has decayed and gone to seed, it appears to be vetch or some sort of other Fabaceae family plant. I will attach more photos. If anyone could assist to a specific variety, that would be appreciated.

Yes, a Vicia. There are several with black-coloured legumes in the province. You may have to compare things like leaflet characteristics, which I don't think is easily done with these photos.
