This vine has been growing in my spot on the Elkhorn River in Nebraska, I cant seem to figure out what it is, ive done some searching and from what I can tell its not poison ivy, oak or sumac, but im not sure. if anyone could help that would be great :) Thanks Linsey
Reminds me of [GOOGLE]Vitis riparia[/GOOGLE], or riverbank grape (in which case, it is likely a native plant)
We have vines that look like that here in the south (TN) and around August or September get Muskadine (sp?) grapes growing high in the trees. I think they are called "wild" but the birds may eat the fruit and they are easily started from seed droppings.
I'd say wild grape (Vitus) of some sort as well. Whether it's a Muscadine or a Riverbank Grape doesn't matter much - and whether it's a weed is in the eye of the gardener. Wild grapes are often quite bitter or sour, but they attract songbirds.
