What is this tree?

    My daughter owns what I think is a tropical tree but I'm not sure what the name is. Can someone please help? It might need some help and she's worried about it.

    The purple flower behind it is not part of it. That's just a decoration.

    Might be Alocasia cucullata, Chinese Taro.
