Looks like a Ruscus sp. Those are not leaves, but cladodes, "flattened, leaf-like stem tissue" The funny pointy bit on top is the flower. If you are lucky you will get a berry there. Fascinating plant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruscus http://www.plant-identification.co.uk/images/liliaceae/ruscus-aculeatus-3.jpg http://www.thefloweringgarden.com/pics/ruscus-aculeatus2.jpg
We have some rather tricky areas in the garden. Dry shade. In a nearby park Ruscus flourish in these conditions and berry well. We grow Ruscus aculeatus and Ruscus hypoglossum. As recommended we have 3 of each to try and get male and female plants. Do we get berries? Do we heck! Another we grow is a real dwarf Ruscus aculeatus John Redmond.( a hermaphrodite) It comes just full of berries from garden centres... but... you guessed.. only a few measly berries. It is so disappointing. http://www.gardeningexpress.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=3051 By the way, the flowers are tiny you almost need an eye glass to see that it is a flower.
