We have some rather tricky areas in the garden. Dry shade.
In a nearby park Ruscus flourish in these conditions and berry well. We grow Ruscus aculeatus and Ruscus hypoglossum. As recommended we have 3 of each to try and get male and female plants. Do we get berries? Do we heck!

Another we grow is a real dwarf Ruscus aculeatus John Redmond.( a hermaphrodite) It comes just full of berries from garden centres... but... you guessed.. only a few measly berries. It is so disappointing.

By the way, the flowers are tiny you almost need an eye glass to see that it is a flower.
