We just planted a sunset maple tree yesterday, it wasn't our first choice, but when we got to the gardening centre, they had sale going on and it was too good a deal to pass. I just noticed some spots/holes on the leaves, as shown below in a similar pic over the web, should we be worried? The leaves are still all green/yellow at the moment on this tree that is about 13ft high A matured red sunset maple tree What trees do you have?
The red and yellow leaf has some tatter that appears to be from wind. It also appears to have maple bladder galls. They are basically harmless and are caused by an insect. http://www.cfl.scf.rncan.gc.ca/IMFEC-IDECF/ficheinsecte_e.asp?id=94 Newt
