In The Garden: What is this please?

    Can anyone identify this plant for me please? A friend has just got back from holiday and found it growing in her garden. (I mean the pink and white flowers)

    No, Aquilegia has radial symmetry, whereas this flower has bilateral symmetry.

    No, I don't think so. The flower is flat. Aquilegias have different petals, but thanks anyway.

    There are varieties of columbine which have flowers resembling those of dahlia or clematis, much more 'flat' and quite different in appearance from the older types.

    Some of the leaves visible in photo look like those of columbine.

    It's definitely schizanthus....I have since found other examples online. Thanks everyone for your comments.
