Identification: What is this plant?

    Bulb given to me, not identified. It is a bulb with long ribbonlike leaves and a 3 foot tall spike bearing tiny 5 petal flowers. It is budding multiple bulblets off the main one both above and below surface of earth.
    Hope my picture file comes thru.....

    Thanks so much! This plant is literally exploding in growth in my north facing picture window. After a bit of searching for info, I get the idea I could neglect it actively and it would still survive,

    It is an impressive plant! Quite the design element.
    Clearly, it enjoys your north-facing window! And perhaps some piano music as well.
