I'm in North West New Jersey. I just moved to this house. We are located in a very woody area. Lots of trees, brush, wild blackberrys and strawberrys. This plant is coming up all over the place. I thought at first that it was seedlings from some of the trees but then I noticed the flower. Can anyone ID it for me? It's very tropical looking and I love it. I'm very new to gardening and don't know names or types of plants. Any info will be appreciated. I have a picture of it but it is too large to upload. I can email it to anyone that may be able to identify it.

    Hi kali1nj,

You can send me the image file and I will attach it for you. (Just click my name at the top of this message for the email option.)

You could also download a graphics program to resize your images. There are free options on the net. (Do a search for "resizing photos".) You may already have such software on your system. Look through your programs.

    Welcome to the Forums,

Here is the photo. It has been tentatively identified as Podophyllum (mayapple). And I would agree with that.
