What is this plant?

    Hi, I have a garden with a plant that I was told is some sort of squash, but it has never produced any kind of fruit (edible or otherwise) and I don't know if I should be ripping it out of my garden. Can anyone identify this plant for me?

    If it has lived for years it would not be a squash anyway, at least not where frosts occur.
