What is this plant?

    Sorry, no picture. It has a short stalk with green furry, peachlike leaves. Oval-shaped leaves. It is definitely a monocot based on the leaves. Does anyone know what it could be? It is able to grow in KY outside, because it was in a box in someone's yard with a sign that said 'free'. I planted it in a pot. It is making a new set of leaves that are together.
