This plant is getting some really long and leggy shoots. I want to cut them back but I don,t know what it is. Also is there a good site for looking up plant care once I know what it is?

Schefflera. LOTS of info on internet...just gotta sort through the sites till you find the one that tells you want you need to know. ---Nice sanseveria!---Am kinda concerned about your leaf color on schefflera. Is it dusty or what?

Sanseveria? Is that the proper name for "mother inlaw's tongue"? If so do you know if they like sun or shade best? This one is very root bound I need to seperate it before it cracks out of that cheap plastic pot.
Yes the Schefflera is dusty, do you suppose I can put it out in the rain or hose it down in the shower?
Thanks so much for you reply.

Yes, to your first question. Sanseveria will stand just about anything, but I keep mine when outside in a fairly semi-shady area. Can tolerate being kinda dry too. Yours looks good. ---Sure: your schefflera would enjoy being outside (well, for a little while---it's September!) and would love a nice gentle shower. Being clean helps the plant transpire---kinda like exfoliation does for the skin! Just be careful hoisting a plant that size anywhere, esp. outside. They are always heavier and taller and wider than you think! Watch out for your back, and for the tree-limbs-fitting-through-the-doorway thing.
