what is this plant??

    I believe this is native to the phillipines.
    All I have is the photo - no plant.
    The stem looks to have thorns.

    PS I'm a Sgt in Kansas Prison, supervising an inmate crew running a greenhouse and a 1 acre garden, always looking for advice and ideas.

    It's a hybrid Euphorbia, of a group that goes under names like E. x lomi, E. x lomii, E. Lomi. It's not a proper botanical name so it's hard to say which version is correct. The parent species all belong to the E. milii group from Madagascar, with E. lophogona possibly the principal parent.

    Thses hybrids have become very popular plants in tropical Asia in the last two decades or so and come in a range of colors from cream through pink and yellow to red.

    Like all Euphorbias it is poisonous . . . I'd be a bit wary of growing it in a prison garden where there might be people who would want to use it to harm others.

    Which Euphorbia do you think it is or a site with pictures of Euphorbia?
