I just went outside and got a better picture of this plant, so maybe now someone can identify it, sorry about the previous pictures...
This is most probably hoary alyssum (Berteroa incana). The first two images are not good from a photographer's point of view but they contribute more to identfication. I assume that the flowers of this plant have four petals each that are deeply bilobed in the manner shown on this photo that I took in Germany: http://www.flogaus-faust.de/e/bertinc2.htm.
That is exactly what the flower looks like up close, thank you very much, I dont have much luck searching on line. Is this a perennial ? I hope so it is a very nice plant. Thanks again, and great photo by the way.
Berteroa incana usually is an introduced biennial but it can grow again from seeds. I actually know a place in southwestern Germany where the plant is not usually present where it has been growing for many decades at a railway station. In my current place (near Frankfurt/Main) it is common. It is considered typical for waste places especially in dry, warm climates on sandy or gravelly soils in Germany. It is also a very beautiful plant and at the moment in bloom, sometimes in abundance. See here for a record in the B. C. e-flora: http://linnet.geog.ubc.ca/Atlas/Atlas.aspx?sciname=Berteroa incana
Well that pretty well sums up my soil, bought it by the truck load and i guess i'm gonna find all sorts of things popping up. Not the greatest of soils thats for sure. I sure am finding tons of crab grass everywhere now, and what looks like wheat growing everywhere. I won't do that again. Thanks alot for the info.
