We don't know the name of this plant/little tree. I know we have to keep it indoors in winter. Anyone know what it is? Thanks

    Nerium oleander (Oleander).

Note: very poisonous if eaten; make sure that young children or pets can't get to it to chew it.

Ooh, ok. Thanks for the info! We had it for years but never knew anything about it.

We have tons of oleander in South Carolina but never have to bring them inside for the winter because they are pretty hardy and stay green all year - I'm not an expert but the leaves seem a little long than what I'm used to seeing. Do you have a picture of it's flowering blooms?

As Michael said, no kidding on the poisonous part.

Notorious on toxic plants to pet birds, dogs and horses lists.

We couldn't have it in our home, because our birds spend time outside their cages.

    No young kids here though.

It does okay in southern Oregon outdoors, but it gets "hammered" by cold about every 8th year or so - usually recovers fine.

Unfortunately, I do not have pics of its flowers. Here its gets pretty cold in winter, can get -30F here. So we have to bring it in close to October.

Looks like an oleander to me, too. Although not nearly as hot as the Rogue Valley there's also outdoor plantings of it up here, but local conditions not suitable enough for it to be seen everywhere as it is in California or Hawaii.
