These were found in my garden in Vancouver, BC. I left a couple to let them grow out to see what they would become. A friend told me they are noxious and should be removed.

I have started seeing a lot of them on my lawn recently. Does anyone know what they are?

This plant is a biennial and is quite lovely - however, as noted in Wikipedia: "In suitable conditions it generally seeds itself in partial shade, and can become a minor weed."
